Midnight Society

A local multiplayer social deduction game for 3–10 players. No internet required — just gather your friends on the same WiFi network and start playing.

System Requirements

  • iOS — 26.0 or later
  • Devices — iPhone and iPad (universal)
  • Network — Local WiFi only. No internet connection required.

Getting Started

Make sure all players are connected to the same WiFi network. One person creates a game as the host, and everyone else joins from the lobby screen. Once everyone's in, the host starts the game.

A typical game lasts about 10–20 minutes and runs through several phases: role reveal, night, discussion, voting, and results.

The discussion phase has a 5-minute timer that the host can pause if needed.

Multiplayer & Connectivity

How does multiplayer work?

Midnight Society uses local WiFi (Bonjour/mDNS) to connect players. The host advertises the game, and nearby players on the same network can browse and join. There's a 30-second window to accept invitations.

Do I need Bluetooth?

No. The game uses WiFi only. All players must be on the same local network.

I can't find other players.

Make sure everyone is on the same WiFi network, and that each player has granted the app Local Network permission in Settings → Privacy & Security → Local Network.

Someone disconnected mid-game.

Disconnected players are tracked by the game and can rejoin. The host will receive an updated game state when they reconnect.

In-App Purchases

Midnight Society includes one optional purchase:

  • Doomsayer Role — $2.99 (one-time purchase). Unlocks an additional role for your games.

This is a non-consumable purchase tied to your Apple ID. If you've already purchased it, you can restore it from the in-app purchase screen via Restore Purchases.

Data & Privacy

Midnight Society stores all data locally on your device. There are no accounts, no cloud sync, no analytics, and no tracking.

  • Profile data — Your name, avatar symbol, avatar color, and optional photo are stored on-device only.
  • Purchase history — Cached locally for convenience. The App Store is the source of truth.
  • Deleting your data — You can delete your profile from within the app. To remove all app data completely, delete and reinstall the app.
